#1: Minor Threat – First 2 7” EPs (Reissue)

010

A fitting way to start a new vinyl collection. Originally released in 1981 as 2 EPs, reissued as an LP in 2008 by the kind people at Discord Records. Minor Threat are easily my favourite hardcore punk band of the early 80’s, their music has enjoyed heavy rotation on my players over the years. They were active between ‘80-83, releasing 3 EPs and later compiling them for the Complete Discography LP. Often credited with starting the straight edge movement, for which I tend to admire the commitment more than the cause, these guys bought their thinking caps to the table along with their angsty punk attitude and that’s ace. And the music is of course, killer. I’m glad to start the collection off with some good ol’ school hardcore punk.
